Your Search Console Export Hides Two-Thirds of Your Queries: A pandas Festival Calendar for 2027

(I help out with FRQ.)

FRQ is a small hyperlocal marketplace: shoppers find clothing shops near them, and shop owners list for free. Like most small sites, it has no analytics team. What it does have is a Google Search Console export: one
.xlsx
file with the last 30 days to 27 October 2026.

This post is the notebook I used to turn that one file into a content calendar for the 2026-27 festival and wedding season. All numbers below come from that export. The code works on any site's export.

  1. Load the export

Search Console → Performance → Export → Excel gives you one workbook with a sheet per tab.

import pandas as pd

x = pd.ExcelFile("search_console_export.xlsx")
print(x.sheet_names)
# ['Chart', 'Queries', 'Pages', 'Countries', 'Devices', 'Search appearance', 'Filters']

q = x.parse("Queries");  q.columns = ["query", "clicks", "impr", "ctr", "pos"]
p = x.parse("Pages");    p.columns = ["page", "clicks", "impr", "ctr", "pos"]
chart = x.parse("Chart")

  2. Gotcha: the Queries sheet is not your traffic

The first thing I did was add up the Queries sheet. It did not match the total.

print(chart["Impressions"].sum(), chart["Clicks"].sum())   # 6886 86
print(q["impr"].sum(), q["clicks"].sum())                  # 2340 21

The 333 query rows cover 2,340 of 6,886 impressions (34%) and 21 of 86 clicks (24%). Google leaves out rare queries for privacy, and on a small, young site most queries are rare. If you plan content only from the Queries sheet, you plan from a third of the picture.

The Pages sheet goes the other way: it sums to 8,165 impressions, more than the total, because Search Console counts a page-level impression for every URL shown, and one search can show two of your pages. So:

use Chart for totals,

use Pages to judge pages,

use Queries for the wording people type, not for volume.

  3. Bucket queries by intent (Hinglish and Hindi included)

FRQ's audience types in English, Hinglish and Hindi script, so the patterns have to cover all three. A plain regex table was enough:

import re

buckets = {
    "seller":      r"business|online store|sell|dukan online|apni dukan",
    "when":        r"\bkab\b|\bkb\b|date|muhurat|tithi|\btime\b|\btak\b|कब|मुहूर्त",
    "price":       r"price|kitne ka|cost|\brate\b|sasta|budget",
    "what_to_buy": r"kya kharid|kya le|\blist\b|ideas|outfit|saman|सामान",
    "where":       r"near me|kahan|nearby|पास",
    "how_to":      r"how to|kaise|कैसे",
}

    return "other"

bucket

7

what_to_buy

16

114

0

seller

37

91

0

how_to

13

58

0

price

6

27

1

where

1

1

0

Two things jumped out:

"When" beats "where". 97 different queries asked when to shop ("karwa chauth ki shopping kab kare", "kb kre", "muhurat", the same question in Devanagari). Exactly one query had "near me" in it. For a "near me" product that is humbling, and useful: people plan festival shopping by the calendar first and pick the shop second.

Spelling variety is the long tail. The same question showed up as karwa, karva, karwachauth and करवा चौथ. One page that answers the question well collects all of them; the regex table is how you see that they are one question.

  4. Find pages Google shows but nobody clicks

zero = p[(p["impr"] >= 20) & (p["clicks"] == 0)].sort_values("impr", ascending=False)
len(zero)   # 27

27 pages had 20 or more impressions and zero clicks. These are the cheapest wins on the site: Google already ranks them (several sit at average position 6 to 10), so a better title and a direct answer in the first two lines can turn impressions into visits without a new URL. On FRQ that list included a wedding-season guide (47 impressions, position 6.4), a men's kurta measurement guide (45 impressions) and a saree packing guide (68 impressions).

  5. Check the device split before you design anything

x.parse("Devices")

device

clicks

impressions

position

Mobile

69

5,977

7.08

Desktop

17

878

13.39

Tablet

0

31

6.87

87% of impressions were on mobile, and mobile ranked about six places higher than desktop. Every page gets tested on a phone first.

  6. Turn it into a calendar

The pattern in the data: festival guides with the year and a Hinglish question in the title win, and the impressions arrive before the festival. Karwa Chauth fell on 29 October 2026 (Drik Panchang); in the 14 days up to 27 October FRQ had 5,271 impressions, against 1,615 in the 18 days before that, and the Karwa Chauth 2026 guide alone collected 3,537 impressions and 28 clicks. So the calendar is a list of peaks, with a publish-by date about 10 days earlier:

from datetime import date, timedelta

peaks = {
    "Diwali outfits and shopping list": date(2026, 11, 8),
    "Shaadi season opens (Dev Uthani Ekadashi)": date(2026, 11, 20),
    "Wedding guest outfits (Feb weddings)": date(2027, 2, 2),
    "Christmas and New Year party wear": date(2026, 12, 25),
}

cal = pd.DataFrame(
    [(topic, peak, peak - timedelta(days=10)) for topic, peak in peaks.items()],
    columns=["topic", "peak", "publish_by"],
).sort_values("publish_by")

topic

peak

publish by

Diwali outfits and shopping list

8 Nov 2026

29 Oct 2026

Shaadi season opens

20 Nov 2026

10 Nov 2026

Christmas and New Year party wear

25 Dec 2026

15 Dec 2026

Wedding guest outfits (Feb weddings)

2 Feb 2027

23 Jan 2027

Festival dates come from a panchang, not from the data. Dev Uthani Ekadashi on 20 November 2026 and the first February 2027 wedding date are from Drik Panchang's calendars; Diwali on 8 November is from FRQ's own Diwali guide. Ten days is the lead time we chose to test, not something the export proves.

  What we're doing with it

Writing festival and wedding-season guides on frq.in's own blog first, in English and Hinglish, because the site's own pages are where the clicks are.

Answering the "when" question in the first two lines of every guide.

Rewriting the titles of the 27 zero-click pages before writing anything new.

Re-running this notebook every month through the wedding season into 2027.

If you run a local shop and want to try it: listing on FRQ is free at shop.frq.in, and shoppers can browse local markets at market.frq.in.

(I help out with FRQ.)

How a Hyperlocal Fashion Marketplace Works: List Free, Get Found (2027 Guide)

Every Diwali the same thing happens. A shopper types "kurta shop near me" or "saree shop near me with price" a few days before Dhanteras, gets a list of big brands and directory pages, and the small clothing shop two streets away, with exactly the outfit they wanted, never shows up.

(I help out with FRQ.)

This post explains, in plain terms, how a hyperlocal fashion marketplace closes that gap, using FRQ (Find Retailers Quickly) as the worked example, and ends with a short checklist a shop owner can finish before Dhanteras (6 November 2026).

  The problem: online discovery, offline purchase

Most Indian shoppers still want to touch the fabric, try the fit and pay at a counter they trust, especially for festive and wedding wear. But the search now starts on the phone. If a shop has no page with its products and prices, it is invisible at the exact moment the shopper decides where to go.

Big marketplaces solve discovery by shipping the product to you. A hyperlocal marketplace solves it differently: it sends you to the shop.

  How the model works, step by step

1. The shop lists for free. A clothing shop owner signs up at shop.frq.in, adds the shop's details and uploads products with photos and prices. FRQ's own FAQ describes a free Starter plan (up to 50 products, 0% commission), so a small shop can start without paying anything.

2. Each shop gets its own page and link. The shop's catalogue lives on its own address on frq.in, which the owner can share on WhatsApp, print as a QR code at the counter, or put in a social bio. The same page is what search engines can find.

3. Shoppers search by what and where. On frq.in and market.frq.in a shopper browses categories and nearby markets, compares a few local shops' products and prices, and picks one, all before leaving home.

4. The sale happens in the shop. The shopper visits, tries it on and pays at the counter. Where the shop offers it, the shopper can reserve a piece first and try it in the shop. No courier, no return shipping, no commission on the sale for the shop.

That loop, list free → get found on the map → shopper walks in, is the whole business model, and it is why it suits clothing so well: fit and fabric matter, and local shops already have the stock.

  Why this works better for festivals than a generic directory

Prices are visible. "Near me with price" searches are common because shoppers hate walking in blind. A product page with a price answers that question; a directory listing with only a phone number does not.

Stock changes weekly in festive season. A shop page the owner updates from the phone keeps up with new Diwali and wedding stock.

It is clothing only. A focused marketplace is easier for a shopper to trust for "lehenga" or "kurta set" than a list that mixes clothes with plumbers and caterers.

  A pre-Dhanteras checklist for clothing shop owners

If you run a small clothing shop, this takes about an hour and can be done today:

List the shop on shop.frq.in with correct timings and contact details.

Add your 10–20 best festive pieces with clear phone photos in daylight and a real price on each. "Price on request" loses most shoppers.

Write one honest line per product: fabric, sizes available, and whether it can be altered.

Share your shop link on WhatsApp status and with your regular customers, and print it as a QR code for the counter.

Update it twice a week until Diwali (8 November) and keep doing it through the 2026–2027 wedding season. Fresh stock is the reason shoppers come back.

  For developers reading this

If you build sites for local shops, the same principles apply on any stack: one canonical page per shop, one page per product with a visible price, a mobile-first layout (most "near me" searches are on phones), and
ClothingStore
plus
Product
structured data. I wrote a copy-paste version of that markup earlier: structured data for a small clothing shop.

  FAQ

What is a hyperlocal fashion marketplace?
An app or site that shows clothing from shops near you, so you can compare online and then buy in person at the shop.

Is listing a clothing shop on FRQ free?
Yes. FRQ's FAQ lists a free Starter plan with up to 50 products and 0% commission.

Do shoppers pay anything to use frq.in?
No. Browsing local shops and their products on frq.in is free.

Can I reserve clothes online and try them in the shop?
Where the shop offers it, yes. Here is a longer guide: reserve online, try in the shop.

Shopping for Diwali? Find local clothing shops near you on frq.in. Running a shop? List it free on shop.frq.in. (I help out with FRQ.)

Can I Reserve Clothes Online and Try Them in Store? A 2027 Guide to Reserve-and-Try at Local Shops

Yes, you can reserve clothes online and try them in store. Many local clothing shops now put their stock online, and on a marketplace like FRQ (frq.in) you can reserve a piece free for 48 hours, walk into the shop, try it on and pay at the counter only if you like it. No card, no booking fee, no delivery. (I help out with FRQ.)

This guide explains how reserve-and-try works, what it costs, what to check before you leave home and where it beats both pure online shopping and walking from shop to shop. It is written for the 2027 wedding and festive season, when most of us are buying a kurta, a saree or a lehenga and do not want to guess.

  What "reserve online, try in store" actually means

There are three common ways to buy clothes today:

Buy online, get it delivered. You pay first, wait for delivery, and if the size or colour is wrong you start a return.

Walk in cold. You go to the market, move from counter to counter, and hope the piece you want is in stock in your size.

Reserve online, try in store. You look at real stock and real prices from shops near you on your phone, ask one shop to keep a piece aside, then go and try it.

The third option is sometimes called "buy online, pick up in store" or "click and collect". The difference with reserve-and-try is that you do not pay online at all. You only pay after you have touched the fabric and checked the fit.

  How reserve-and-try works on frq.in, step by step

Here is the flow on FRQ (Find Retailers Quickly), as it works on the site today:

Pick your market. Open https://frq.in/ in your phone's browser. There is no app to install.

Search or browse. Type what you want, such as "silk saree" or "kurta set", and see which shops have it, with photos and the price next to each one.

Reserve it free. Ask the shop to keep it aside. The reservation is held for 48 hours. There is nothing to pay and no card to enter.

Walk in, try, pay. The same page shows the shop's address, opening hours and directions. Try the piece on. If it is right, pay the shopkeeper at the counter. If it is not, you simply do not buy it.

The shopkeeper confirms the stock and the final price, so it is worth one quick look at your reservation before you leave home.

  What does it cost?

For shoppers, nothing extra. Browsing, comparing prices and reserving are free, and you pay the shop its own price at the counter with no fee added on top.

To give you a feel for real prices, this is what a search on frq.in showed on 27 October 2026:

Kurtas: from ₹539

Sarees: ₹919 to ₹4,229

Women's lehengas: ₹3,389 to ₹7,819

Prices change as shops update their stock, so treat these as a snapshot, not a promise. The point is that you see the number before you go, instead of discovering it at the counter.

  Why reserve-and-try beats the other two options

Versus ordering online:

You see the true colour in daylight, not on a screen.

You feel the fabric. A "silk blend" can mean many things.

You check the fit on your body, not on a size chart.

There is no return to arrange. If it does not suit you, you leave it at the shop.

You can wear it the same evening if you need to.

Versus walking in cold:

You know the piece is there before you put your shoes on.

You can compare the same item across several shops first.

You avoid the "come back tomorrow, new stock is coming" trip.

You spend your time in one shop, trying, not in five shops, asking.

  Reserve karke shop par try karna: kab sabse kaam aata hai

Reserve-and-try is most useful when:

The outfit is for a function. A lehenga or saree for a wedding has to fit and photograph well. Reserve two options in two shops and try both on the same day.

You are buying for someone else. Reserve, then take them along to try.

Sizes are tricky. Kurtas and blouses vary a lot between makers. Trying beats measuring.

Time is short. A reservation in the morning can be on you by the evening.

Budget matters. Seeing prices across shops first stops you from overpaying at the first counter you walk into.

  What to check before you reserve

A reservation is only as good as the details behind it. Before you tap reserve:

Photos: Are they of the actual piece, from more than one angle?

Price: Is it the final price, or "starting from"? Ask if unsure.

Size and colour: Pick the exact one you want to try.

Opening hours: Make sure the shop is open when you plan to go.

Return or exchange terms: These are set by each shop. Ask before you pay, and keep your bill.

  What happens if you can't make it in 48 hours?

The reservation is held for 48 hours. After that, the shop can sell the piece to someone else. If your plans change, it is fair to the shopkeeper to cancel or simply not go. If you still want it, check the listing again. It may still be in stock, and you can reserve it once more.

A good habit: reserve only what you genuinely plan to try. Shopkeepers set the piece aside for you, so a reservation is a small promise on both sides.

  Tips for trying clothes in the shop

Go in daylight if colour matters. Shop lights can change how a shade looks.

Wear or carry the right undergarments and footwear for a lehenga or saree trial.

Check the stitching at the seams, hem and zip, not just the front.

Move in it. Sit, raise your arms and walk. A wedding outfit has to work for hours.

Ask about alterations. Many local shops can adjust the fit for you.

  For shop owners: why this matters to you

If you run a clothing shop, reserve-and-try brings you shoppers who already know what they came for. They have seen your price and chosen your shop, and the sale still happens at your counter. On FRQ's Starter plan a shop can list products at ₹0 a month with 0% commission, and there is no delivery or online payment to manage. You can read more on https://shop.frq.in/.

  Quick FAQ

Can I reserve clothes online and try them in store?
Yes. On frq.in you reserve a piece free, it is held for 48 hours, and you try it in the shop before paying.

Do I pay online to reserve?
No. You pay the shopkeeper directly at the counter, after you have tried the item.

Is there a fee for reserving?
No. Reserving is free for shoppers, and no fee is added to the shop's price.

Do I need an app?
No. FRQ works in the browser on any phone.

Who handles returns or exchanges?
The shop you bought from, under its own terms. Keep your bill.

Shop ko Google par kaise dale? Short answer: create a free Google Business Profile for your shop, verify it, and give Google a web page that lists what you sell with prices. That is the whole job. Everything below is the detail, written for a small clothing shop owner who has a phone, a counter and no developer.

I wrote this because "shop ko google par kaise dale" is one of the most common questions shop owners type into Google, and most answers stop at step one. Step one gets you on the map. The steps after it decide whether anyone actually walks in. (I help out with FRQ.)

  Why being on Google matters for a clothing shop

People now search before they step out. They type things like "saree shop near me with price" or "kurta shop near me". If your shop is not on Google, you are not in that list, even if you have the best stock in the market. If you are on Google but show no products and no prices, the shop next to you that does show them usually gets the visit.

  Step 1: Make a free Google Business Profile

Search "Google Business Profile" and open Google's own page for it.

Sign in with a Google account (make one just for the shop if you can).

Add the shop name exactly as it is written on your board.

Pick a category. For most of us that is "Clothing store", "Saree store" or "Women's clothing store".

Add the address, phone number and opening hours.

Google will ask you to prove you own the shop. The options it gives differ from shop to shop (a short video, a code by phone or email, or a postcard). Follow what it shows you on the screen.

A Business Profile is free. Nobody needs to be paid to "put your shop on Google".

  Step 2: Fill the profile like a shop window

An empty profile is like a shutter that is half down. Add:

10 or more clear photos: the board outside, the counter, the racks, and a few best-selling pieces.

Your real opening hours, including the weekly off day.

A short description: what you sell, for whom, and the price range.

Updates when new stock comes in (the profile lets you post short updates).

  Step 3: Give Google a page with your products and prices

This is the step most shops skip. Google likes to send people to a page that answers their question, and a shopper's question is usually "do they have it, and how much?"

You have three choices:

Your own website. Best if you have time and money for it.

A social media page. Better than nothing, but it is hard for Google to read prices from posts.

A free shop page on a local marketplace. For example, frq.in's free shop website gives a shop its own address like yourshop.frq.in, a product catalogue and counter billing. Its page says the Starter plan is ₹0 a month and it takes 0% commission (read on 27 Oct 2026). You put that address in the "Website" field of your Google Business Profile.

On frq.in, shoppers can see your items with prices, reserve one free for 48 hours, and then try it and pay at your counter. So a search turns into a walk-in, not a courier parcel.

  Google par dukan dikhane ke 3 asaan kadam (jo log bhool jaate hain)

Naam, pata, phone har jagah ek jaisa rakho. Board, Google profile, WhatsApp and your shop page should all show the same name, address and number. Mixed details confuse Google.

Asli customers se review maango. After a happy sale, ask the customer to leave a review. Never buy fake reviews; Google removes them and the profile can suffer.

Daam chhupao mat. Shoppers search "with price". Show a price, or at least a "from ₹…" range, for your main items.

  Step 4 (optional, for the techie in the family): add structured data

If you do have your own website, a small block of JSON-LD tells Google exactly what the page is about. A minimal example:

{
  "@context": "https://schema.org",
  "@type": "ClothingStore",
  "name": "Your Shop Name",
  "telephone": "+91-00000-00000",
  "openingHours": "Mo-Sa 10:00-21:00",
  "url": "https://yourshop.example"
}

I went through the full version, with five common mistakes, in an earlier post on ClothingStore schema.

  How long does it take to show on Google?

Honestly, it varies. The profile can show up once it is verified, and Google's own help pages say a new web page can take from a few days to a few weeks to be crawled. Keep adding photos, products and real reviews in the meantime; an active profile does better than one that was made and forgotten.

  FAQ

Shop ko Google par dalne ka kitna paisa lagta hai?
Nothing. Google Business Profile is free. A free shop page (for example on frq.in) costs ₹0 on its Starter plan, per its own page on 27 Oct 2026.

Website ke bina Google par shop dikh sakti hai?
Yes. The Business Profile works without a website. But a page with your products and prices helps shoppers decide to visit, so it is worth adding one.

Free listing on Google kaise kare?
Make a Google Business Profile (Step 1 above). That is Google's own free listing for a shop.

Can shoppers reserve my clothes before visiting?
On the frq.in market, yes: a shopper can reserve an item free for 48 hours and then try it and pay at your counter.

(I help out with FRQ.) If you run a small clothing shop and try these steps, tell me in the comments what got stuck. I'll add the answer here.

Posters: FRQ (Find Retailers Quickly)

By Mohammad

If you've ever built a site for a relative's or neighbour's shop, you know the pattern: the site looks fine, but Google shows the wrong hours, no price range, and the map pin points at the next lane. For small clothing shops in India this matters a lot right now, because wedding and festive shoppers start on their phones.

Most of that information comes from the shop's Google Business Profile, but the website can help too. A small block of schema.org structured data tells search engines exactly what the shop is, where it is, and when it's open. Here is a copy-paste version for a clothing shop, and the mistakes I keep seeing.

  1. Use the right type:
ClothingStore

schema.org has a specific type for this,
ClothingStore
, which is a subtype of
Store
→
LocalBusiness
. Use it instead of a generic
Organization
.
}
  ],
  "sameAs": [
    "https://www.instagram.com/example",
    "https://wa.me/9198xxxxxx10"
  ]
}
</script>

  2. The five fields that actually matter for a small shop

openingHoursSpecification
: many market shops close one weekday (often Tuesday). Leave that day out of
dayOfWeek
instead of writing "closed" somewhere in text.

geo
: take the coordinates from the shop's own Google Maps pin, not from the street name. In crowded markets the street-level guess is often 100 metres off.

priceRange
: shoppers filter on budget. A real range ("₹300–₹6000") is more useful than "$$".

telephone
: use the number the shop actually answers, ideally the WhatsApp Business number, in international format.

image
: a real shopfront photo helps people recognise the shop when they arrive.

  3. Keep it consistent everywhere

Search engines cross-check. The name, address and phone number (NAP) in your JSON-LD should match the Google Business Profile, the signboard, and any marketplace or directory page the shop has, character for character. "Shop 14, Main Bazaar Rd" in one place and "14 Main Bazar" in another is the most common reason a small shop's details look unreliable.

  4. Validate before you ship

Paste the page URL into Google's Rich Results Test and the Schema Markup Validator (validator.schema.org). Fix every error; most are a missing comma or a time written as "10.30" instead of "10:30".

  5. What if the shop has no website at all?

Plenty of small clothing shops don't, and building one just for schema isn't worth it. The practical options are a complete Google Business Profile plus a free shop page on a local marketplace. One I help with is FRQ, short for Find Retailers Quickly (frq.in): a clothing shop can make its own page with products and prices at https://shop.frq.in/, and shoppers browse local shops at https://market.frq.in/. (I help out with FRQ.) Whatever you pick, keep the same name, address and phone number as above.

  Quick checklist

[ ]
@type
is
ClothingStore

[ ] Address matches the signboard and Google Business Profile

[ ]
geo
taken from the real map pin

[ ] Weekly closed day left out of
openingHoursSpecification

[ ] Real
priceRange
in ₹

[ ] WhatsApp number in international format

[ ] Passed the Rich Results Test

If you've done this for a family shop, I'd like to hear which field caused you the most trouble.
