Statement date vs due date: I built a tiny free planner because my own cards confused me

Most of us with two or more credit cards know the feeling: a banking app shows a "statement balance", an email mentions a "due date", and the reminder you set in your phone's calendar is three weeks old. Missing one payment by a day can cost a late fee plus interest on the whole balance.

The confusion that started this
In Philippine credit card communities the same question comes up again and again: "Is there one app that shows the statement date and due date of all my cards?" (example threads: r/PHCreditCards, Mar 2026 and Jul 2024). Commenters recommend six different apps, while others say "just use your phone's calendar". No single answer wins.

What the statement date and due date mean

Statement (cut-off) date: the bank totals your charges for the cycle. Whatever you buy after this date lands on the next bill.

Due date: usually around 2–3 weeks later, depending on the bank. Pay the statement balance in full by then and you normally avoid interest.

What we built
The Card Due-Date & Pay Planner is a single page where you enter each card's statement day, due day and this cycle's amount, plus the subscriptions billed to it. It then shows:

every card, ordered by the next due date

how much to pay on each card this cycle

which subscriptions (Netflix, Spotify, iCloud…) sit on which card, so a card swap doesn't break one of them

What it deliberately doesn't do
No bank login and no linking accounts, so it never sees your card numbers. Your card data stays on your device (saved in your browser). That means no sync across devices, which is a real trade-off.

How it was made
Honest note: we're a small team, and we built this with heavy AI help (code drafts, copy, research), then checked the date logic by hand. Edge cases: when a due date falls on a weekend, the planner shows a note to pay by Friday, because banks handle weekends differently. It doesn't move the date for you. We also handled statement days like the 31st in short months.

Try it / tell us what's wrong
It's free: https://vo-waitlist.pages.dev/tools/card-planner/?src=devto-card

I'd really like to hear about:

Banks whose cycles don't fit "statement day + due day"

Whether you'd want an .ics calendar export

Comments are open, and blunt feedback is welcome.

Would you pay $7 to export all your AI chats?

Quick gut check from a solo builder. I'm building a small local-only browser extension that exports ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini chats to Markdown/PDF. Basic export free, bulk + Notion export a one-time $7. Would you pay that, or is free-only the only way you'd use it? Reply with yes / no / maybe and why. (I built this, waitlist: https://vo-waitlist.pages.dev/extension/?src=devto-poll)

How I export ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini chats locally

i keep good stuff in ai chats (code, prompts, notes) and kept losing it. here's what actually works for getting chats out, without sending them to some third party service.

 1. built-in export options

ChatGPT: Settings > Data controls > Export data. it emails you a download link to a zip with
chat.html
and
conversations.json
. the html file opens in any browser and is searchable with ctrl+f. the json is every chat in one big file, fine for scripts, not fun to read. the link expires, so download it soon.

Claude: Settings > Privacy > Export data. same idea, you get an emailed link to a zip with your conversations as json.

Gemini: no one-click full export in the app that i know of. use Google Takeout (takeout.google.com), pick the Gemini / "My Activity" data. for single answers there is a share/export to Docs option under the response menu.

 2. copy to markdown tips

for one chat, use the copy button on each reply. it copies markdown, so code blocks keep their fences.

select the whole conversation and paste into a markdown editor (obsidian, vscode). pasting often keeps formatting better than pasting into plain text.

add a header yourself: date, model, and a one line topic. future you will thank you.

for the json export, a tiny script that loops conversations and writes one .md file per chat is about 20 lines in python or node.

 3. what breaks

the exports are all-or-nothing, so getting just 3 chats means digging through everything.

long chats can paste with weird line breaks, and tables sometimes turn into plain text.

images and attachments usually dont come along in the copied text.

the emailed links expire and exports can take a while to arrive.

formats change over time, so old scripts can break.

how do you save your chats now? copy paste, screenshots, something else? curious what works for people.

I'm building a small local-only extension for this (I built it): https://vo-waitlist.pages.dev/extension/?src=devto2

im building a tiny ai chat exporter (and checking if anyone wants it first)

so heres my problem. i have tons of chatgpt and claude chats with good stuff in them, code snippets, ideas, notes. and i can never find them again when i need them.

so im building a simple exporter. the plan:

runs on ur computer, ur chats dont get sent to my server

basic export is free (markdown, pdf, txt)

$7 once if u want bulk export + notion

im not writing much code yet. first i want to see if other ppl actually want this, so i put up a waitlist page: https://vo-waitlist.pages.dev/extension/?src=devto

if enough ppl join ill build it. if not, i saved myself a few weeks lol.

couple questions for u:

what format would u want most? markdown, pdf, something else?

would u pay $7 one time for bulk + notion, or is free basic enough?

thx for reading, any feedback helps.
