Receive SMS Verification Codes Online with Virtual Numbers

SMSPing is an online service for receiving SMS verification codes on a virtual phone number. You choose an app, then a country and carrier, see the live price, and read the code in your browser or through our Telegram bot, @smspingnetbot. A public API is also available for developers. If no SMS arrives, the fee is returned to your SMSPing balance.

As of 2026-10-30, SMSPing's public catalog lists 153 countries and 1,331 services.

 How it works

Pick the app you need a code for.

Pick a country and a carrier. Each carrier shows a live price and whether it has stock.

Order the number. The price is deducted from your balance.

Enter the number in the app, using the international format (country code plus number).

Read the SMS in your SMSPing order (or in the Telegram bot) and enter the code.

No SMS? You get the fee back to your balance when the order is cancelled or times out without a message. An order that has already received an SMS can't be cancelled for a refund.

Free public numbers vs private paid numbers

Free "receive SMS online" sites usually show shared public numbers: anyone can see the codes, the numbers are reused, and many apps reject them. They are fine for throw-away testing. A paid number from SMSPing is assigned to your order for that verification.

 Apps you can pick

These are some of the services present in the catalog on 2026-10-30. Availability and stock change, so the live catalog always wins:

Messaging: Telegram, WhatsApp, Signal, Viber, LINE, WeChat, KakaoTalk, Zalo, Discord, Skype.

Google and Microsoft: Google, Google Voice, Microsoft, Yahoo.

Social: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X (Twitter), Snapchat, LinkedIn, Reddit, Twitch.

AI: OpenAI, Claude, DeepSeek.

Shopping, travel and rides: Amazon, eBay, Shopee, Lazada, Temu, Airbnb, Uber, Bolt, Grab, Gojek.

Dating: Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, Grindr.

Gaming and streaming: Steam, Roblox, Epic Games, Netflix, Spotify.

Not listed in the catalog right now: Binance, Bybit, Pinterest, VK, Threads and GitHub.

Whether any individual app accepts a virtual number is decided by that app. Check its rules first.

 Countries you can pick

The catalog includes, among others: United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, Brazil, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau and Nigeria. The full list is on the order page and grows or shrinks with stock.

See live prices and stock at smsping.net.

Not currently available: China, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Turkey, the UAE, Ukraine and New Zealand.

 When it doesn't work

Check the country code and the digits.

Make sure the service on the order matches the app.

Wait for the app's resend option before asking for another code.

Try a different carrier or country.

Read Receiving SMS verification codes and troubleshooting missing codes.

 For developers

SMSPing has a documented API with a public catalog and offers endpoint, and Bearer-key authenticated order and balance endpoints. Reuse the same idempotency key when retrying an order, poll no faster than every 5 seconds and stay within 60 requests per minute per account. See the SMS API guide.

 Responsible use

Virtual numbers are for lawful verification. Follow each app's terms, and don't use SMSPing for fraud, harassment or evading bans.

 Guides

 Frequently asked questions

 What is SMSPing?

An online service where you pick an app, a country and a carrier, get a virtual phone number and read the SMS verification code in your browser or through the Telegram bot @smspingnetbot.

Do virtual numbers work with every app?

No. Each app decides whether it accepts a number, so SMSPing can't guarantee acceptance. If no SMS arrives, the fee goes back to your balance.

 How much does it cost?

The price depends on the app, country and carrier and is shown live before you order. We don't publish fixed prices on this page.

What if the SMS never arrives?

Cancel the order or let it time out and the fee is refunded to your SMSPing balance. An order that already received an SMS can't be cancelled for a refund.

Can I use it from code?

Yes. SMSPing has an API with a public catalog and offers endpoint and key-authenticated order endpoints. See the SMS API guide.

Which countries and apps are supported?

The public catalog lists 153 countries and 1,331 services as of 2026-10-30. Live availability is shown on the order page. China, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Turkey, the UAE, Ukraine and New Zealand are not currently available.

Show DEV: SMSPing – receive SMS verification codes in the browser or on Telegram

I'm sharing SMSPing (https://smsping.net), an online SMS receiving and virtual number service I run.

 What it does

Pick the app or website you need a verification code for.

Choose a country and carrier, and see the live price before ordering.

Receive the SMS in the browser, or through the Telegram bot @smspingnetbot.

If no SMS arrives, the fee goes back to your balance.

 Why a Telegram bot

A lot of the time you're already in a chat app when you need a code, so the bot lets you order a number and read the SMS without opening another tab.

 Caveat

Whether a given number is accepted depends on each platform's own rules, so it won't work for every service.

Feedback on the flow or the bot is welcome. Updates are on X: @SMSPingnet.

How to test SMS verification (OTP) flows without using your personal phone number

If your app sends one-time codes by SMS, you eventually need to test the whole flow end to end: request a code, receive it, type it in, handle expiry and resend. Using your own phone number for that gets old fast, and it doesn't scale to QA teams or multiple countries.

 Options

1. Provider test numbers. Twilio, Firebase Auth and most SMS providers offer magic test numbers or fixed test codes. Great for unit and CI tests, because nothing is actually sent. The downside: you never exercise real carrier delivery.

2. A dedicated SIM or device farm. Realistic, but you're limited to the countries and carriers you physically have.

3. Online virtual numbers. Services that rent you a real number for a short time and show incoming SMS in a web dashboard or API. Useful for checking real delivery, country-specific formatting, sender IDs and latency across regions.

What to check in a real-delivery test

Time from request to delivery, per country

The sender ID and message template actually shown on the handset

Code expiry and resend rate limits

Unicode/localized templates (e.g. Chinese, Arabic) render correctly

Your app handles a code that never arrives

A note on the tool I built

Disclosure: I run SMSPing, an online SMS receiving service. You pick an app, country and carrier, get a virtual number, and read the SMS in your orders or via API. Pricing is shown upfront, and if no SMS arrives the fee goes back to your balance. Whether a number is accepted depends on each platform's own rules, so for your own app's QA it's a quick way to test real delivery in other countries.

What do you use for OTP testing? I'd love to hear other setups in the comments.
