Opinion on the denying my application for template editor rights
[edit]Hello, thank you for trying to support me on my rollback request refusal. Unfortunately I'm currently finding myself in the same situation while requesting template edit rights. While I kind of understand both of these denyings, I'm a bit sceptical about the latter decision. Can you please throw an eye on the thread I pointed you above and give me third-eye opinion? I understand the importance of these rights and I'm not here to unfoundedly request them because I already have the responsibility of being an autopatrolled user, so I known that every edit I do must be perfectly justified. But even so, a bit of external advice would help. Cheers! JeyReydar97 (talk) 12:49, 31 October 2026 (UTC)
- While rollback is just a minor antivandalism tool that is given out fairly freely to almost anybody who wants it, template editor is a bit more locked down due to the potential for site-wide disruption. Hence, it is only given out to editors with a demonstrated need to edit protected templates, so, if you don't consistently need to edit them, you will be declined. It's not a reflection on your trustworthiness--just a matter of keeping the site secure. Cheers! Reaper Eternal (talk) 06:14, 2 November 2026 (UTC)
