Takes down domains on low evidence
See Incidents documented on the Wikipedia Hetzner article.
Summary: several takedowns of domains/servers based on thin / low evidence requests from governments or mere filing of lawsuits.
Requires passport upload
Hetzner may (likely) require you to upload a passport (or equivalent ID) before they allow you to purchase a domain name. This is an unreasonable and invasive request that other domain name providers do not require. They do this under the guise of "fraud prevention" but if that were so then other domain name providers would do so as well, thus is likely a poor excuse.

- Reddit: Hetzner wants my passport to do business with me... I don't like it.
This is honestly ridiculous. I wouldn't give Amazon my ID, nor Discord, or any of the big companies. How exactly does Hetzner math that someone is going to give up their ID just to host with them when there's a hundred other options out there?
