@Launchballer: Here's my review. In case you forgot the GA criteria, check here. Please ping me upon response!

  1. Well-written:
    a. Most of it is fine, but some parts are worded a bit weirdly. For example, "Moore performs under the name Nori Royale and was midway through a gap year at the time, while Mazzola was from Philadelphia and Quezada is of Dominican descent" makes little sense as these three facts have little in common.
Reworded that bit, let me know if any others need changing.--Launchballer 03:33, 13 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
  1. b. Fits the MOS well. No notes.
  2. Verifiable with no original research:
    a. Not much to get wrong, just a simple reference list at the bottom.
    b. Several of the sources are primary (sources 1–3) or questionably reliable (sources 6, 12, and 23).
I believe that the three YouTube videos uploaded by the show's account to verify things that happened on the show complies with WP:PRIMARY. ScreenRant is considered reliable for entertainment and isn't being used for any exceptional claims, PennLive is a standard WP:NEWSORG, and Primetimer is currently on WP:RSN, where it has been found to be reliable.--Launchballer 03:30, 13 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
  1. c. Some sections contain no sources or fewer than expected (namely Discography and the table in History), but they're summaries of other sections which have all the same information cited.
    d. No notes.
  2. Broad in its coverage:
    a. Only one of the 4 paragraphs in the History section talks about the group outside the context of the show Building the Band. While the show is certainly not irrelevant to 3quency, it's only a small part of the group's history, and the remainder of the History section should be expanded.
The remainder of the History section should contain the stuff RSes have written about, can you point out which sources I've missed?--Launchballer 03:30, 13 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
  1. b. Same reasons as 3a.
  2. Neutral:
Text is unbiased and encyclopedic. No notes.
  3. Stable:
    No notes.
  4. Illustrated:
Since the article has no audiovisual components, and I can't find any relevant free-to-use images, I can't assess it in this category. However, I do suggest you add an image of the group if possible.
Will add if I find.--Launchballer 03:30, 13 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
  • Overall: On hold

While I do think this article is lacking in some ways, it can definitely be improved to GA quality with some effort. I'm leaving this to you, though, as I'm largely unfamiliar with the subject of this article.

@Goobab: I believe I've addressed everything.--Launchballer 03:30, 13 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Goobab (talk) 04:03, 13 October 2026 (UTC) Thanks! I hadn't realized how much info from reliable sources were on their time on Building the Band, so I suppose the History section can stay essentially as it is. I also did some tiny copy-edits just to prepare this for GA-ification.Reply

Improved to Good Article status by Launchballer (talk) and EmergentAnarchy (talk). Number of QPQs required: 4. Nominator has 436 past nominations.

General: Article is new enough and long enough

Policy compliance:

Hook eligibility:

  • Cited: Yes
  • Interesting: Yes
  • Other problems: No - As mentioned by 4meter4, the hook is inaccurate, since it is not physically possible for Payne to have "posthumously" judged the competition.
    • Just noting that the hook is only in the Building the Band article (not a problem in itself, though).

Image eligibility:

QPQ: Done.

Overall: @Launchballer and EmergentAnarchy: Nice work on these articles. My primary concern relates to the quality of the sourcing, but otherwise this looks good. Epicgenius (talk) 18:59, 14 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

  • Comment. @Epicgenius: I just spent the last 30 minutes reviewing these only to have an edit conflict. Oh well. I have two complaints you did not raise. First, the QPQ is not done. Three more are needed as 4 QPQs are required. Second, its impossible to "posthumously judge". He was living when he judged the competition. It was posthumously released by Netflix. There is a difference. The hook fact is in error and needs tweaking.4meter4 (talk) 19:04, 14 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
    • @4meter4: Oops, sorry about that. If you want, you could still post your review, and we could split the credits evenly (2 each for you and me)?
As for your first complaint, the QPQ was four articles. (1) Leona E. Prasse, (2) Julia Feininger, (3) Lyonel Feininger: A Definitive Catalogue of His Graphic Work, (4) Lyonel Feininger (Hess book). QPQs are counted by number of articles reviewed, rather than number of nomination subpages edited for a review. Your second is a valid point, though. Epicgenius (talk) 19:11, 14 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Epicgenius: That is kind of you, but I don't mind doing other reviews, and you should get credit for your work. Thanks for clarifying the QPQ point.4meter4 (talk) 19:17, 14 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
I've removed AllMusic and trimmed the quote from Mazzola; I believe Instagram is acceptable per WP:ABOUTSELF. ALT1: ... that a 2025 Netflix competition won by Brianna Mazzola's band 3Quency was judged by a member of One Direction (pictured) who died before it was released? As for credits, as Payne died two years ago on 16 October and the prep hasn't been queued, I was hoping one of you could promote.--Launchballer 19:19, 14 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Looks good. However, Wikipedia:Did you know/Reviewer instructions implies, if not outright says, that an uninvolved promoter should come along and promote it. Maybe one of the @DYK admins: could take a look? Epicgenius (talk) 19:22, 14 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
I've removed cosmopolitan from building the band. WP:SCREENRANT says it's reliable for entertaiment. haven't addressed the last possible problem source EmergentAnarchy (talk) 19:25, 14 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Standard is being used for 'other outlets have opinions' and should be fine.--Launchballer 19:29, 14 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
I've added the primary sources for those reviews anyway EmergentAnarchy (talk) 19:37, 14 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. I am satisfied with these explanations for the use of the marginal sources. Epicgenius (talk) 19:40, 14 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
