@Daniel.Cardenas: Again, per WP:NOSOCIAL and other WP:EL guidelines, we should avoid inserting random links to social/self-published content in the External links section. I reverted but then you inserted again (and see WP:BRD as a reminder). These are arbitrary utterances by one CEO. Please discuss here why you think these are approporiate for WP:EL. --ZimZalaBimtalk 18:43, 17 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

What makes you think it is arbitrary? The article is about ai datacenters and the CEO of a trillion dollar company is making very interesting comments on that subject. Why does that sound arbitrary? What isn't arbitrary? Is the entire article arbitrary? Daniel.Cardenas (talk) 20:48, 17 July 2026 (UTC)Reply

Tweets as source, again.

[edit]

Regarding this edit, which Daniel.Cardenas has been edit warring to restore, a tweet including a clip from a source is not reliable (it's also unlikely the twitter account has permission to share this, making it an WP:ELNEVER). This is not the first time on this talk page I have cautioned you against using tweets or other social media as sources. If you need to indicate a specific time, citation templates can include timestamps, but in order to highlight a specific claim like this you need sources which are both reliable and independent. You cannot combine a reliable primary source with an unreliable independent one to highlight a perspective you personally think is interesting, as this is both WP:SYNTH and editorializing.

This claim, and this executive's framing of it, is very much promotional. (I think most people outside of the bubble realize why this number is so inflated) If Gemini's popularity is legitimate and directly relevant to AI data centers, cite a reliable, independent source making this connection. Do not present it in isolation as though the connection were obvious. Adding this as a factoid is inappropriate, and Wikipedia should not be used as a platform for this kind of tissue-thin PR anyway. Use better sources to provide context. Grayfell (talk) 21:16, 20 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
