Suggested addition: evidence on blockchain in health care

[edit]

Hello, I am Sarina Yaghobian, the first author of the review cited below, and am disclosing my connection to this publication.

I would like to propose the following addition to the “Other uses” section for independent review:

“Blockchain and distributed ledger technologies have been investigated for managing access permissions, consent, provenance and audit trails in health care. A 2026 scoping review of 892 studies found that most involved prototypes or simulated evaluations, while evidence of sustained real-world implementation remained limited.”

Reference: Yaghobian S, Sulkowski N, Galambos G, Scarazzini L, Maloumian N, Verhaeghe S. Blockchain for Digital Health Governance: Evidence Gap Map and Scoping Review. Journal of Medical Internet Research. 2026;28:e96098. https://doi.org/10.2196/96098

Supporting material: Abstract, Results and Conclusions.

The proposed wording describes investigated applications and the limitations of the evidence, without claiming established clinical benefits. Could an independent editor assess whether this would improve the article and whether the proposed placement is appropriate? ~2026-49494-84 (talk) 16:50, 18 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
