Speaking at WikiConference India 2026 |
I am from India, and most of my volunteer time goes to the Wikimedia movement, where I work on two sides of the same question: the technology that contributors depend on, and the people and programmes that bring them in and help them stay. I build tools and help keep shared infrastructure running, and alongside that I mentor, organise events and workshops, serve on international photo campaign juries, and translate learning material into Hindi.
I care most about Hindi and other smaller-language communities, where a single well-made tool or one patient conversation can change what a whole community is able to do. I try to work in the open: every project I take on has a public record of what I did and what I learned from it.

Events and programmes
[edit]What I am doing now
[edit]- Tools and infrastructure. I co-maintain Superset on Wikimedia Cloud, shared data infrastructure for the community, and I build and maintain Clip2Commons, WhichTool and WikiScriptSync on Toolforge. Outside Toolforge I built Election Violence Monitor, an open-data platform for election-violence reporting, and I am investigating Santali (Ol Chiki) OCR for Wikisource.
- Community and mentoring. I lead South Asia outreach for WikiVibrance, founded Wiki Open Learning, and mentor in the EduWiki Hub Mentorship Program and Road to Wiki.
- Juries and review. I serve on international photo juries, most recently Wiki Loves Monuments 2025 and Wiki Loves Folklore 2026, and I reviewed the Wikimedia Core Curriculum video series for the Wikimedia Foundation.
