Current requests for increase in protection level

Request addition of protection to a page, or increasing the current protection level
Place requests for protection increases at the BOTTOM of this section. If you cannot find your request, check the archive of requests or the page history. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent disruptive editing by the same vandal who was present a year ago when the page was last protected. They continue with their attempt to change the order of actors' names in credits, with the aim that one actor's name precedes the others. It's really annoying at the moment. ~2026-58132-78 (talk) 08:58, 1 November 2026 (UTC)

Reason: Inclusion of material not related to the topic. The article is about the event WWE Draft 2024, which took place between April 26 and April 29. Reason: I am requesting administrator review and temporary page protection for the Justin Chart article due to repeated reversions and an ongoing content dispute.

The revision history from October 21–26, 2026, documents multiple reversions involving the discography, album citations, and biographical information.

Please review whether temporary protection is appropriate to prevent further edit warring while editors work toward consensus on the talk page.

I also request review of the discography using reliable published sources and discussion of whether the existing birth-year information meets Wikipedia's biographical sourcing standards.

Requests for autopatrolled

Autopatrolled

[edit]

I have been editing since May last year and have created more than 25 articles. Two of them are rated B‑class, and most of the others are C‑class or Start‑class. Two of my articles, Presley Gerber and Killing of Sonia Exelby, were nominated for deletion because of differing views on their notability, but both were kept. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ItsShandog (talk • contribs) 11:59, 22 October 2026 (UTC)

Hi @ItsShandog, could you explain how you created Brendan MegrawBrendan Megraw in Diff/1290863082? Why did you use the {{navbox}} template in Diff/1290872406 and how did you produce that in such a short amount of time? Why did you remove the {{ai-generated}} tag (added in Diff/1348062842), along with utm_source=chatgpt.com parameters, in Diff/1348070103 and then restore the original redirect in Diff/1379884757 a couple of months later? ‑‑gurkubondinn 14:59, 24 October 2026 (UTC)
That would have been around the time I was new to Wikipedia from what I can recall, and looking at it now, it was days after I joined when I would have used ChatGPT. That was before I knew much about AI or about Wikipedia. I stopped using it a long time ago, as I saw how unreliable it was even before the ban on Wikipedia. I cannot explain the navbox, as I have no idea what that is. I would assume it was something to do with ChatGPT at that time. In regard to restoring it to a redirect, that was more to do with the fact that I was editing the disappeared page that covers all those people, and the page more or less repeats the same thing. It does not have any more information than the disappeared page. It was not anything to do with my old edits, as I did not even notice the ChatGPT bit on it. I forgot about that edit, as it was over a year ago. If I had remembered, I would have gone back and fixed all of that, but it is better as a redirect anyway. ItsShandog (talk) 15:17, 24 October 2026 (UTC)
The reason for the removal of the AI part was that this was at the point when I did not use it anymore, but I had not fixed the page at that stage, so I should not have removed it. That was my own fault. There were so many pages I would have edited when I was new that I could not remember them all, but any I come across now I try to fix. I probably removed the ChatGPT part because I would have assumed that was what the template was referring to. That would have been me trying to fix the page, but to be honest I did not know the ins and outs of AI until recently, or all the different ways it is incorrect. Even back in April I just assumed a page was tagged with that because it had old links from ChatGPT and that type of thing. It is only when I have started to read the AI signs page on Wikipedia that I have learned about all the different things it does. If I had known that in April, I would have done a lot of copyediting and fixing of that page. ItsShandog (talk) 15:21, 24 October 2026 (UTC)

I've been fully editing Wikipedia since May of this year, and I've created almost 50 active articles. I have had a couple deleted in my early days and, in recent times, have had about one nominated for deletion, but it was kept without hassle. Thanks! ReelCosmix (talk) 05:32, 14 October 2026 (UTC)

I would like to request the autopatrolled user right. My previous request was declined due to a copyright-related concern. I acknowledge the feedback and remain committed to complying with Wikipedia's copyright policy and content guidelines.

I request a reassessment of my article-creation record and subsequent contributions. Thanks Biplab Anand (Talk) 01:42, 19 October 2026 (UTC)

I know that I don't have 25 new articles yet, but some comments at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/2026 backlog discussion/RFC phase#Q3: Reduced requirements for autopatrolled suggested that it's not unusual for people with fewer than that to still be granted Autopatrolled, so I figured it couldn't hurt to ask, and worst case if it's not time for me get it now I can ask again at some future point. My main contributions are 4 articles created from scratch, and 5 articles destubbed. All nine of those articles were accepted for the Did You Know section on the home page. I've also created a few redirects and disambiguation pages. I think I have a reasonable grasp of the sourcing, notability, and other policies. And for what it's worth, I already have Autopatrolled on Wikimedia Commons. Thank you for considering me. PeterCooperJr (talk) 20:30, 2 November 2026 (UTC)

I saw that comment and it's not my experience that this happens much if at all. You are off to a great start and I am impressed with your work, but grants below the the 25-article threshold aren't common. @3vw5, is this the only task you want to use AutoWikiBrowser for? If so, you should ask at Wikipedia:AutoWikiBrowser/Tasks. -- Reconrabbit (talk) 18:31, 21 October 2026 (UTC)
Currently yes. Janes is a well known source for military articles. The issue will be recurring. I am even fine with a temporary permission 3vw5 (talk) 07:05, 27 October 2026 (UTC)
I'd like to access the autowikibrowser to use the find and replace tool to change the constituencies for Welsh places with the infobox field constituency_welsh_assembly, as there are certainly hundreds of places in Wales with the old constituencies in their infoboxes. Otherwise, if there's a more appropriate tool for that kind of thing I'd like to know. Mr Cadno (talk) 18:43, 29 October 2026 (UTC)

Hi iam doctor Ayush Bhardwaj editing wikipedia since last 5 years I create pages regarding politics it will help me for reviewing my and other people works Thank you Dr.AyushBhardwaj (talk) 11:53, 2 November 2026 (UTC)

Thank you for your contributions and your interest in this permission. On reviewing your contributions thus far, I'm not seeing any engagement with article deletion processes, and your recent article creations have all focused on pages relating to electoral politics which are generally automatically notable, and thus not a clear demonstration of your understanding of relevant guidelines and policies. I am also a bit concerned that your statement here, despite its brevity, includes several grammatical and spelling errors, which does not suggest that you are up to the task of carefully reviewing other editors' writing.  Not done, but please keep up the good work in relation to covering Indian politics. signed, Rosguill talk 18:30, 2 November 2026 (UTC)

I have been reminded that my trial NPR permission is going to expire in a week. I have been doing a decent amount of front-of-the-queue patrolling, mostly sticking to reviewing easy disambiguation and redirect pages between tagging/draftifying AI-generated pages. I wouldn't mind continuing to do this, so I'm request NPR to be renewed. Kisseran (talk) 19:50, 2 November 2026 (UTC)

Only saw a few pages in your curation log that aren't redirects or dab pages. Those few looked good, but it's not a big sample size for review. I've seen your work at AINB and it's good, so I'm going to extend your trial. If you have a chance to get some full standalone page reviews under your belt, that will assist us with reviewing when you apply for permanent NPR permissions.  Done for two more months. Thanks for volunteering! Dclemens1971 (talk) 22:01, 2 November 2026 (UTC)
Requests for pending changes reviewer

Pending changes reviewer

[edit]

I would like to request the pending changes reviewer permission. I'm familiar with WP:PCR, Wikipedia:Vandalism, WP:VANDTYPES/WP:VANDNOT, and content policies. I have 2,023 edits. I'm active in recent changes, patrol, AfD, and writing.

I will use this permission to help clear the pending changes backlog, and further my anti-vandalism efforts.

Thank you. AnonymousScholar49 (talk) 16:06, 28 October 2026 (UTC)

Requests for rollback

Rollback

[edit]

I would like to request rollback rights. I do a lot of recent changes patrolling, and I think the rollback function and the tools that require the right would prove very helpful to me while patrolling. A while ago, I requested the rights and then realized I did not have 200 mainspace edits, so I withdrew my request. However, I should now have over 200 edits in the mainspace, and would appreciate if I could be granted the right. Thanks! Bucket of Bubbles (talk) 23:44, 21 October 2026 (UTC)

I would be honored to be granted the powers of the legendary Rollback flag to further destroy the morale of the nefarious vandal empire in my exalted conquest. They shall no longer have any hope of escape once I lay my eyes upon them and their unexplained content removals. EditWarCriminal (talk) 17:59, 22 October 2026 (UTC)

EditWarCriminal, is this a serious request? Reaper Eternal (talk) 22:04, 30 October 2026 (UTC)
yes EditWarCriminal (talk) 18:04, 2 November 2026 (UTC)

I would like to have the rollback permission to speed up my recent changes patrolling with tools like Interceptor and AntiVandal. I've been patrolling for over two months now, I understand when rollback can and cannot be used, and I always leave an appropriate warning on the user's talk page after a revert. Thank you for considering my request! Kapicapybara (they/them) (talk) 00:08, 31 October 2026 (UTC)

Reason for requesting rollback rights I would like rollback rights to easily revert edits. Emmanbotan🌹 (talk) 05:00, 31 October 2026 (UTC)

I'd need to move articles from my userpage sandbox to main space. That leaves plenty of redirections waiting for sysop to delete. Rollback right may generally avoid such a situation. I have rollback right in zhwiki and had much more before I went through wiki-semi-retirements. Hope this helps your judgement. だ☆ぜ (Dasze) 20:28, 31 October 2026 (UTC)

Not done. Unlike zh-wiki, en-wiki doesn't include the permission you're referring to (suppressredirect) in the rollback right; it's part of the page mover right instead, which comes with significantly higher requirements. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 04:47, 2 November 2026 (UTC)
Requests for template editor

Template editor

[edit]

Hello. I am requesting that my temporary TE rights be made permanent. As a TE, my edits have mostly consistented in non-controversial dark mode fixes/improvements and fulfilling edit requests. If I see a change that I think may be controversial, I try to bring it up on the talk page to discuss. While I have made some mistakes in the past by pressing publish too soon, I make sure to try and slow down and preview/test my changes. Axolitl (talk | contribs) 03:36, 30 October 2026 (UTC)

Pinging @Primefac as they previously granted me this right. Axolitl (talk | contribs) 01:48, 31 October 2026 (UTC)

Hi. I am requesting TE rights due to frequently working with creating and sorting templates, mainly architecture and sports-related templates, and recently engaging into authority database extra ID recommendations. JeyReydar97 (talk) contribs 09:56, 31 October 2026 (UTC)

Not done for lack of demonstrated need; the mini-edit war at Template:Grand Slam-Triple Crown Champions is a little concerning as well. Primefac (talk) 10:35, 31 October 2026 (UTC)
Understood. I'll continue to improve then. However, regarding to that small edit contradiction, the template did not feature the link of the respective wrestler twice as the others claimed so I had to create a new subgroup to fix the problem and avoid alleged duplicates. Everything was solved in the end. JeyReydar97 (talk) 11:13, 31 October 2026 (UTC)
While I do recognise that everything got sorted, it took twice as many edits as necessary; you broke the template, someone pointed it out, and you basically told them to fix it (while re-breaking the template in the process). I wouldn't have failed your application because of this back-and-forth, but it is being mentioned as something to keep in mind going forward. Template editors make mistakes just like everyone else, but when that happens they're expected to correct the issue or revert until such time as the proposed change can be properly implemented.
