User:Rehman
Hello and welcome to my userpage!
Hi, I’m Rehman. I was born in Manama, Bahrain, and now live in Colombo, Sri Lanka. I have been an active contributor to Wikimedia projects since 2008, with a focus on renewable energy, infrastructure, and Sri Lankan geography—reflecting my interests in solar and wind power, dams, rivers, and environmental documentation. Much of my work on Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons centres around these topics. Beyond editing articles, I am deeply involved in technical and community work. I develop and maintain Wikidata-driven infoboxes, navigation templates, and other tools, including being the main contributor to the Infobox Power Station. I am an administrator on both the English Wikipedia (since 2016) and Wikimedia Commons (since 2011), where I support content moderation, policy enforcement, and community workflows. I also created Commons’ Criteria for Speedy Deletion (CSD) to improve administrative efficiency. I founded and lead the Wikimedia Community User Group Sri Lanka (UG-LK), working across Sri Lanka’s three main language groups to support outreach, organise photowalks, run Wiki Loves Earth contests, and promote Wikimedia participation nationwide. Our projects, including long-term environmental photography initiatives, contribute millions of page views each year across 140+ wikis. Outside Wikimedia, my professional background includes stock market, banking, renewable energy, cybersecurity, and knowledge management. My personal interests include cycling, hiking, travelling, photography, stargazing, community outreach, and building computers. If you are passionate about topics related to Sri Lanka, or would like to contribute more actively, consider joining UG-LK or our mailing list, Wikimedia-LK. We welcome editors of all backgrounds and skill levels. If you ever need confidential assistance, including help dealing with harassment or cyberbullying, feel free to contact me privately—I'm always happy to help where I can.

Today's Featured ArticleThe Sovetsky Soyuz class was a class of battleships begun by the Soviet Union but never brought into service. They were designed in response to the German Bismarck-class battleships, and would have rivaled the Imperial Japanese Yamato class and America's planned Montana class in size, although with significantly weaker firepower. Only four hulls of the fifteen originally planned had been laid down by 1940, when the decision was made to cut the program to only three ships to divert resources to an army-rearmament program. Construction of the first four ships was plagued with difficulties as the Soviet shipbuilding and related industries were not prepared to build such large ships. One battleship, Sovetskaya Belorussiya, was cancelled after serious construction flaws were found. Construction of the other three ships was suspended shortly after Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union in June 1941. All three of the surviving hulls were scrapped in the late 1940s. Picture of the DayMõdriku is a village in Vinni Parish in Lääne-Viru County, northeastern Estonia. It is the location of Mõdriku Manor, a house that was first mentioned in 1470, and belonged to several Baltic-German families, including the family of the Russian general and explorer Alexander von Kaulbars. His ancestor R. A. von Kaulbars, reputedly a great patriot, put up the column commemorating the French invasion of Russia in 1812 that is still visible in the manor park. The building dates partly from the 17th century, with substantial alterations in the 1780s and 1890s. During the 20th century, it was used by various schools. This photograph shows the facade of Mõdriku Manor in 2012.
