My user name does not ping in the usual way, because of the equal sign "=", I am told. I thought it was ampersand "&", but am informed that wasn't true.[2]
However, I am a Luddite, and my WP:User name has served me well for a decade and a half; so I am not about to change. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

Women: today Irene Butter (don't miss the short video in her story and article), yesterday Tabea Zimmermann for her 60th (I was in the audience for that concert in 2023, long video), and some day Ileana Cotrubaș again, whose article became GA today. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 18:08, 9 October 2026 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Betty Logan. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, The Ten Commandments (1956 film), but you didn't provide a reliable source. On Wikipedia, it's important that article content be verifiable. If you'd like to resubmit your change with a citation, your edit is archived in the page history. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Betty Logan (talk) 11:09, 2 November 202 6 (UTC)
- Betty Logan Rather than engaging in an edit war, I put your concerns into google AI, and asked for guidance on resolving the problem of finding reliable sources for the revenues of The Ten Commandments (1956 film). Here is its answer:
AI Overview Under Wikipedia guidelines for film core data (such as WP:FILMCOMMON and WP:FILMRELIABLE), Box Office Mojo and The Numbers are recognized as the primary, high-quality industry aggregators for box office figures. However, tracking historical titles like The Ten Commandments (1956) presents a unique challenge across these platforms due to how they log unadjusted historical data versus modern re-releases.
Box Office Mojo +1 Recommended Reliable Sources for Wikipedia To maintain a neutral and accurate encyclopedic record, you should evaluate how each source handles the film's figures: Source Profile Reported Gross Best Encyclopedic Use
- Box Office Mojo $65,500,628 Best for documenting baseline unadjusted theatrical gross directly tied to early tracked releases.
- The Numbers $85,434,516 Captures a higher lifetime raw accumulation, frequently referenced by film historians for overall multi-generational ticket sales.
- Guinness World Records (via secondary attribution) Top 10 All-Time (Adjusted) The standard citation for the film's inflation-adjusted performance, placing it as the 8th highest-grossing film of all time.
Navigating Discrepancies on Wikipedia Because of how older box office receipts were recorded (often focusing on distributor "rentals" rather than total ticket sales), Wikipedia articles commonly account for multiple figures by providing context in the prose.
Facebook ·Aleteia English While the film's initial release and accumulated revivals are traditionally cited in the ballpark of $122.7 million to $196.3 million across historical literature, using Box Office Mojo or The Numbers guarantees compliance with Wikipedia's community consensus for infobox data.
