Question from Kevryan2001 on Talk:Jane Ohlmeyer (06:10, 17 August 2026)

Hi there I’m new to editing Wikipedia so I need some help . Here are the links to my source to update the biography of Dr Jane Ohlmeyer on Wikipedia.https://www.britishcouncil.org/research-insight/our-world-connected-podcast/resetting-relationships

From Our World, Connected: Resetting relationships: UK-Ireland connections, culture and the stories that bind us, Apr 28, 2026

https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/resetting-relationships-uk-ireland-connections-culture

You can check the transcript on the Apple Podcast

Here’s what Dr Jane Ohlmeyer talks about her father and mother .

I was born in a place called Kittwee, which is in Zambia. My father was from South Africa. On his side of the family, we were descended from Lithuanian Jews who came to South Africa at the turn of the 20th century.

The Russian pogroms basically drove them out of Lithuania, and they worked then in the gold mines in Johannesburg. That's my father's side of the story. Then my mother was a Magokan from County Tyrone.”

Heres a suggested edit from AI

“Ohlmeyer was born in Kitwe, Zambia, to a Northern Irish mother from County Tyrone and a South African father of Lithuanian Jewish descent. She grew up in Belfast, Northern Ireland “

Thanks

Question from Nji Piezaro on Dody Weston Thompson (09:33, 15 October 2026)

Hello how can i create a citation --Nji Piezaro (talk) 09:33, 15 October 2026 (UTC)

@Nji Piezaro: Sorry for a late reply. I suggest taking a peep at Help:Citations quick reference as a quick cheatcode and a little longer beginner's guide to citations and referencing. Hopefully that helps. Best! A09|(talk) 11:50, 31 October 2026 (UTC)

Question from Treeblood (14:07, 15 October 2026)

I'm more of a creative writer, and can struggle with technical writing. Do you have any tips or 'formulas' on the writing style/protocol for Wiki articles? --Treeblood (talk) 14:07, 15 October 2026 (UTC)

@Treeblood: Sorry for a late reply. I usually look at articles on similar topics to see their approaches and their formulation. Since English Wikipedia is wast, I also suggest visiting appropriate WikiProjects and Portals to find such related articles and other users editing and creating content in shared interests. Best! Question from IowaLegendHawk (17:17, 28 October 2026)

Hello Mentor. do I need to add citations to pictures? I am adding stuff about Iowa sports but want to make sure I am doing the formatting correctly. --IowaLegendHawk (talk) 17:17, 28 October 2026 (UTC)

@IowaLegendHawk: sorry for a prolonged reply, but there is no need to add citations to pictures. Source of the picture is already denoted on the File: page, anything else that might be controversial surrounding the picture itself should be explained in the body of the article.
