Userspace edits

[edit]

Hi! I would like to thank you for all you efforts in spreading kindness in Wikipedia but I have noticed that the majority of your edits are to user talk pages and userspace pages mainly focusing on signing guestbooks and sending birthday messages but it's important to note that Wikipedia is not social media. Signing guestbooks is allowed but it shouldn't distract you from making edits and of course sending birthday messages is not prohibited but it should not be a major focus. This kind of thing usually falls under WP:NOTFORUM and WP:NOTSOCIAL. The main reason we're all here is to build an encyclopedia. I am not saying you should stop signing guestbooks or sending birthday messages. I am saying that you should focus more of your time on mainspace edits. Thank you for the note. Working in radio, I don't have overly too much time to contribute to the project, especially in the fall and winter months with sports play-by-play preparation taking most of my time (see conflict of interest, which I need to update because I have updated two radio station logos on pages). Although I would estimate 90-95% of my edits are guestbooks and Birthday Committee, my hope is to encourage others that are making constructive edits to Wikipedia when I am squeezed for time; and then in the spring and summer months make more constructive edits when I don't have as much on the sports radio side to worry about. ☘︎☘︎☘︎ALEXHammeke (talk | guestbook | sandbox) 05:17, 9 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
For a second there I was confused when you said fall and winter because it's currently spring where I am but thanks for responding. I understand where you're coming from and it does explain a bit. I appreciate all you do to encourage editors and hope to see you more around the mainspace when you have time. Eh-st-h☆rDid thatSaid what? 07:17, 9 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Some Candy Apples for you!

[edit]
Zahrazamedahmedi has given you some caramel and a candy apple! Caramel and candy-coated apples are fun Halloween treats, and promote WikiLove on Halloween. Hopefully these have made your Halloween (and the preceding days) much sweeter. Happy Halloween!

'"On Psych, A USA Network TV series Episode 8, The Tao of Gus, Season 6, Shawn refers to pumpkins as "Halloween Apples" because he thinks all round fruits are a type of apple.

If Trick-or-treaters come your way, add {{subst:Halloween apples}} to their talkpage with a spoooooky message!
