Candidates
[edit]For future reference, because I see that you've been jumping the gun more than once in the past week or so, people do not get Wikipedia articles just for standing as candidates in elections. The notability bar for politicians is holding a notable office, not just running for one, while unelected candidates get articles only if they were already notable enough for some other reason completely independent of their candidacy.
You would have to be able to take the candidacy completely out of the article and still have a keepable article about a person who has notability for other reasons that have nothing to do with the provincial election — if you cannot do that, then the person has to win the seat on election night, not just be a name on the ballot, to get an article on the basis of the provincial election itself. While obviously some of the candidates you started premature articles about in the past week or so did indeed win tonight, others did not, so you need to be more aware of the rules in the future, because a mere candidacy for office is not sufficient grounds for a Wikipedia article in and of itself. - To add to this, with an example, consider Danny Beales, who people thought was going to succeed Boris Johnson as MP of Uxbridge, but in the end didn't, and caused a bit of a kerfuffle as a result. In the end, he did get elected as MP later, but that was the time his notability was cemented.
- I did decline an A7 tag on one of these articles (a candidate for one office might have coverage in sources for a lesser role, so it's worth at least going and having a look), but having one sentence stubs with not much indication for expansion makes these things likely to happen. The article Karine Laflamme has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
