| Zahrazamedahmedi has given you some caramel and a candy apple! Caramel and candy-coated apples are fun Halloween treats, and promote WikiLove on Halloween. Hopefully these have made your Halloween (and the preceding days) much sweeter. Happy Halloween!
'"On Psych, A USA Network TV series Episode 8, The Tao of Gus, Season 6, Shawn refers to pumpkins as "Halloween Apples" because he thinks all round fruits are a type of apple.
If Trick-or-treaters come your way, add {{subst:Halloween apples}} to their talkpage with a spoooooky message! |

Suspiciously username
Hi. Some background on this one. There was some suspicion in the original UAA report that the name may have been a reference to a well known LTA - with "suited hand creature" being a sock puppet. Whilst somewhat of a stretch, it still felt weird. So I blocked it anyway as it was eitherway confusing, partially to see what the response would be. Mfield (Oi!) 16:44, 26 October 2026 (UTC)
- @Mfield: Do you know, I didn't even notice the "suited hand creature"; I just saw (1) a long and cumbersome username which would be awkward for other editors, and (2) a silly username, such as is sometimes used by people who imagine that editing Wikipedia can be done in the kind of non-serious spirit as is common in various other wikis, web forums, etc, in which situation experience has taught me that the sooner they learn that it doesn't work like that the better. However, now that you've pointed it out to me I think "suited hand creature" may well mean sockpuppet. If so, the effect of the block is very likely to have been to encourage them to move to another sockpuppet with a less striking name, making it less easy to spot, unfortunately. That doesn't mean that I blame you: in fact I would have done exactly the same. Oh well... JBW (talk) 17:15, 26 October 2026 (UTC)
What's with all these "PCH" usernames?

- @Skywatcher68: From your post at User talk:PCHJWcomp7 it seems that you've found the answer. JBW (talk) 17:36, 29 October 2026 (UTC)
Administrators' newsletter – November 2026
News and updates for administrators from the past month (October 2026).

- Following an RfC, election to ArbCom now requires at least 60% support. Successful candidates normally serve two-year terms, with one-year terms retained for filling vacancies. Proposals to change the election rules may now be added throughout the year and discussed on the talk page; formal discussion remains in September.
- Following an RfC, first-time reviewers’ reviews require an experienced reviewer’s check, and GA requirements now include alt text and accessible tables. Featured articles may receive GA status during removal discussions if they meet GA criteria. Backlog drives will run every five months, with a points leaderboard and awards for the top five participants.
- Self-nominations for the Arbitration Committee are open until 11 November 2026.
- Ongoing backlog drives: Copy editing, Unreference articles
Block modification
I'm assuming that you didn't intend to block account creation on this partial block; if that was your intention, please feel free to restore it. It would be nice if that default flag would change automatically if a block type was changed to "partial"! OhNoitsJamie talk 14:46, 2 November 2026 (UTC)
Heads-up regarding POV-pusher
Hi, JB. Thought you'd like to know about the TA edits from 195.5.56.6 (talk · contribs · IP contribs · WHOIS). Most recently minimizing Russia's involvement in Afghanistan; some earlier Russia-related or Nixon-related edits as well, usually involving the removal of sources/sourced content for tenuous reasons. See the edit summary at Special:Diff/1382803487 and my subsequent edit, for example. –Skywatcher68 (talk) 14:57, 2 November 2026 (UTC)
