Want to nominate MIDI for GA?

MIDI was nominated for WP:GA in 2018 and failed. Since then, you have made a lot of improvements. I just went and cleared all remaining maintenance tags from the article. Do you want to nominate for GA? I can't nominate it myself, as I'm not a significant contributor. Numberguy6 (talk) 01:03, 5 October 2026 (UTC)

There's still a pretty big list at Talk:MIDI/GA1#Areas still missing refs that still needs to be addressed. I will put it on my list to work this. Perhaps Em3rgent0rdr and Popcornfud would be interested in helping. ~Kvng (talk) 14:21, 5 October 2026 (UTC)

Just now seeing Talk:MIDI#Re-nominate_for_GA?. I will continue discussion there. ~Kvng (talk) 14:24, 5 October 2026 (UTC)

I want to learn more about article patrolling

Hello {{u|Kvng}}

I recently completed the online introduction to patrolling course and I'd like to start practicing and improving my skills. I've been a Wikimedia editor and volunteer for a year plus now. I would like to learn how to remove tags once I properly improve on articles. Please is there any recommendation that can guide me.

I also have a small group of 8 persons in my community who are interested in wikimedia. I've helped them create their accounts, but I'm not sure how to train or mentor them. I'd reallly appreciate any help.

I just discovered that wikimedia assigned me a mentor today.

thanks, looking forward to your kind response. Adini Anna (talk) 09:49, 8 October 2026 (UTC)

Hi Adini Anna, I a new pages patroller but I am not very active there. I was not aware that there is a course available. What type of patrolling are you interested in?

Since you've discovered the mentoring program, perhaps your first step with your friends is to make them aware that they can also be mentored. ~Kvng (talk) 14:51, 8 October 2026 (UTC)

Question from William Weeks (19:06, 25 October 2026)

I just read an article on the Los Angeles Times. It listed some of the former employees. My father, Paul Robert Weeks, was a staff writer for the Times, but is not mentioned. In the early 1960's he focused on Civil Rights and, mostly, the Black community in Los Angeles. Newsweek once did an article on the "ten most important writers of the Civil Rights Movement." My father was one of them. He should at least have been mentioned in the article. --William Weeks (talk) 19:06, 25 October 2026 (UTC)

@William Weeks, the Los Angeles Times#Writers and editors section is marked as needing work and is likely to be trimmed or removed entirely as the article develops. I would not take offense that your father is not mentioned here. If you would still like to see him listed, we will need to find a reliable source to establish his significance. Are you aware of something we can use? These are often difficult to find since journalists don't tend to write about each other. ~Kvng (talk) 01:36, 26 October 2026 (UTC)

Question from Timckcheung (19:26, 27 October 2026)

hey im curious how does editing works? how do people make sure my edits are appropriate? --Timckcheung (talk) 19:26, 27 October 2026 (UTC)

Hi Timckcheung. Other editors use the WP:WATCHLIST which lists recent edits to articles they're interested in or have contributed to. Changes made to articles are highlighted and editors can undo or improve the changes. ~Kvng (talk) 20:46, 27 October 2026 (UTC)

Question from Jeroge22 (08:02, 2 November 2026)

Hello. I am going to make a page called Ghostbreakers. It has a red highlighted font. It is on Joey Greco’s page.

As follows, “After the tenth season of the show, Greco was added to the credits as co-producer. In 2010, Greco starred in, wrote, and produced a pseudo-reality series called Ghostbreakers.

I am going to research Joey Greco’s written and produced series Ghostbreakers. --Jeroge22 (talk) 08:02, 2 November 2026 (UTC)
