AN/I Result of the Week Award

[edit]

For his succinct, pithy, relevant, and droll AN/I closure Result statement at this AN/I discussion, Mfield is hereby awarded the Lenny Bruce Honorary AN/I Result of the Week Award. Brag wisely; you've only got six more days to enjoy it. Mathglot (talk) 06:26, 7 February 2026 (UTC)Reply

For blocking 764ch1ldp0rn. A speedy admin task, but I was sitting on Interceptor waiting for an admin to put a stop to it.

Gaspee affair

[edit]

Hi Mfield, the website which the material was taken from is now compatible with our licence, do you mind undoing the revdel? Tenshi! (Talk page) 23:01, 9 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Tenshi Hinanawi. Hi, I am of a mind to leave the revdel in place as the content wasn't under a compatible license at the time it was added so it makes sense to leave that edit revdel'd. I see it the content has been correctly re-added since anyway so nothing is lost by keeping it as it. Mfield (Oi!) 16:57, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
I don't really see a need for it to be revdel'd, but the option is yours I guess. Tenshi! (Talk page) 17:07, 10 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Faversham copyvio-revdel - I was wrong!

[edit]

Hi, you recently responded to my posting that the "Faversham Explosives Industry" page was likely copied from a source. Thank you for responding so quickly.

Unfortunately, I made a mistake. Someone more diligent than me has pointed out that actually the article was older than the source material, and likely the copying was in the other direction. I'm not sure how to undo the revision deletion, or if that's possible. I'm sorry about this! Danielittlewood (talk) 19:45, 15 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

No worries, this happens from time to time, a lot of websites out there steal content from us. I have reversed the revdel on Faversham. Mfield (Oi!) 20:14, 15 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Unsuccessful revdel request

[edit]

Hi Mfield. Thanks for the revision deletion at The Shay. It appears that I made a blunder when I added the hat note, where I accidentally restored the copy-vio that I had just removed in the previous edit. As a result, the current version of the article (after your revdel) still contains all the problematic material. Renerpho (talk) 19:25, 25 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Does this mean Special:Diff/1381942555 should be revision-deleted? Renerpho (talk) 19:28, 25 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
@Renerpho, all good, fixed now. Mfield (Oi!) 19:28, 25 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Guideline and policy news

  • Following an RfC, election to ArbCom now requires at least 60% support. Successful candidates normally serve two-year terms, with one-year terms retained for filling vacancies. Proposals to change the election rules may now be added throughout the year and discussed on the talk page; formal discussion remains in September.
  • Following an RfC, first-time reviewers’ reviews require an experienced reviewer’s check, and GA requirements now include alt text and accessible tables. Featured articles may receive GA status during removal discussions if they meet GA criteria. Backlog drives will run every five months, with a points leaderboard and awards for the top five participants.
