[edit]Unexplained restoration of unnecessary disambiguation on township articles
[edit]I noticed that you undid a large number of removals of unnecessary disambiguation without explaining why that was done. Your reversions feature the edit summary "Revert to proper naming". However, this is directly in contradiction with the guideline WP:PLACENAME, specifically the section §Minor civil divisions, which reads as follows (emphasis mine): Per a successful 2023 Village Pump proposal, minor civil divisions, such as townships, the name of a minor civil division should follow the convention of Division, State, only including the relevant county of a division in between division and state if there are multiple divisions of the same name in a state.
Please undo your edits. I will continue moving articles to meet the standards of that guideline. Best, ~ Pbritti (talk) 16:46, 8 September 2026 (UTC)
Should this community be changed to a ghost town?
[edit]The community of Julian, Kansas has literally no houses on satellite viewings of its area. I was wondering if you could change it to say its a ghost town instead of an unincorporated community since there is nothing at the town site, and you have done that for many other ghost towns in Kansas. RelicDivision (talk) 01:36, 25 October 2026 (UTC)
- Maybe, if the GPS coordinates are correct. Unfortunately, it appears Stanton County, Kansas doesn't have any old county atlases that can be used to validate the locations of tiny communities. In past years, for some communities in other counties I had corrected their GPS coordinates because they were wrong. I'm not claiming this is the fact for this community, but just stating the fact that it can happen. • Sbmeirow • Talk • 07:58, 25 October 2026 (UTC)
- Ok thanks for the advice. Julian could probably be somewhere else but I was just going off the GNIS location so yeah. RelicDivision (talk) 17:41, 25 October 2026 (UTC)
