Introduction to contentious topics

• adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
• comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
• follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
• comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
• refrain from gaming the system.

Additionally, you must be logged in, have 500 edits, and have an account age of 30 days, and you are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on any page within this topic.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

No, the Wikidata links are the ones I was told to remove. If the article exists in another language it's helpful to include so a potential creator can use it as a guide. Schestos (talk) 15:30, 8 August 2026 (UTC)

Tbh (as said in edit summary) i do not think the other language links are needed (but allowed i assume). Same to link every referee, not sure how many would be notable to even have a redlink. Kante4 (talk) 15:46, 8 August 2026 (UTC)

It's quite helpful to link to other Wikipedias. I create a lot of articles and if one has an article on another wiki I find it much easier to create an article on here because it lists important info with sources. For the referees, most have Wikidata items and some even have articles on other Wikipedias (the German Wikipedia seems to have a few) so I don't see why linking them hurts. I agree with you @Kante4, to me all that the things that the user Schestos is adding is useless : only links for referee that have Wikipedia page, and all the links for Wikipedia in other languages are useless Pindrice (talk) 15:50, 8 August 2026 (UTC)

Side with Pindrice here, don't like the links to other wikis (but thats just a personal thing). Having 60 redlinked referees is also just not needed.
