Learn what Wikipedians do and discover how to help. Has a list of maintenance tasks you can do.
- Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
- It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
- If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue on the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
- Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
- When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
- If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
- Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

Hello. Some of your recent genre changes, such as the one you made to You Want It Darker (song), have conflicted with our neutral point of view and/or verifiability policies. While we invite all users to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, we urge all editors to provide reliable sources for edits made. When others disagree, we recommend you seek consensus for certain edits by discussing the matter on the article's talk page. Thank you. Doctorhawkes (talk) 21:15, 21 January 2026 (UTC)
Reliable sources (February 2026)
[edit]
Please refrain from adding, removing or changing genres, as you did to Only a Fool Would Say That, without providing a source or establishing a consensus on the article's talk page first. Genre changes to suit your own point of view are considered disruptive. Thank you. Binksternet (talk) 14:21, 20 February 2026 (UTC)
Care when editing (May 2026)
[edit]Good evening,
When editing articles like Will DYSON, not to delete important information. For instance, Will DYSON is known as... Will DYSON, but you deleted his preferred name.
With Ruby LINDSAY, there are items that generally should not be linked: Everyday words, common occupations, dates, countries, geographic features, etc. See MOS:OVERLINK.
With respect to Lionel LINDSAY, you shortened a date range, which would have been reviewed by previous editors. I have restored this. Please see MOS:DATERANGE. You also MOS:OVERLINKed 'sir'.
With respect to Percy LINDSAY, please do not remove red links unless you are certain that Wikipedia should not have an article on that subject. It invites people to research and create an article.
Please always provide an edit summary when removing content from pages. An informative one is even more helpful. For your consideration.–Q8682 (talk) 12:32, 11 May 2026 (UTC)

Hello, I'm Zackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions to Country Songs, Old and New. When you were adding content to the page, you added duplicate arguments to a template which can cause issues with how the template is rendered. In the future, please use the preview button before you save your edit; this helps you find these errors as they will display in yellow at the top of the page. Thanks. Disambiguation link notification for August 5
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Thousand Knives, a link pointing to the disambiguation page Contemporary classical was added. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hello, I'm Vigilantcosmicpenguin. An image you uploaded appears to be copyrighted content borrowed from another website. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously: if you are the copyright holder and would like to use this image on Wikipedia, please follow the instructions given at WP:DONATEIMAGE. This will start the process to get an VRTS ticket in place on the item proving that Wikipedia has permission to use it. The image should be uploaded to Commons, not directly to Wikipedia. If you haven't created an account here, you will need to create one on Commons. This may sound complex, but hopefully if you take it step by step it will go smoothly. If you have any questions, you can leave a message on my talk page.
Please read Wikipedia's image use policy to understand what may or may not be included on Wikipedia. — Vigilant Cosmic Penguin 🐧 (talk | contribs) 16:54, 19 September 2026 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Bill Wurtz in a 2019 Genius interview.jpg
[edit]
Thanks for uploading File:Bill Wurtz in a 2019 Genius interview.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of non-free use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:06, 22 September 2026 (UTC)
