WikiProject or others adding article requirements more stringent than WP policies
[edit]I believe you mentioned before about WikiProjects or others adding article requirements that were more stringent than Wikipedia policies. I believe you were skeptical about the propriety of this.
Can you think of some examples? I seek to study this issue first because it may or may not be relevant in a current ArbCom case. Thank you. Vanguard10 (talk) 23:37, 31 October 2026 (UTC)
- Hello Vanguard10, this is now at ArbCom? Okay ...
- I couldn't find it anymore but I knew I had encountered this years ago, so I have now built a local database of all my contributions ever and searched through that.
- ("WikiProject overturning RSN result")
- , (I objected to "Any result that is not referenced or that is not the same as in Sherdog, must be returned to how it is described in Sherdog" being treated by WP:MMA as if it was a holy super-policy overriding others).

- Best regards,
~ ToBeFree (talk) 04:23, 1 November 2026 (UTC)- Thank you.
- I am very surprised, but Danners430 and his issues took me to ArbCom. I do not want to fight. I have even retired from Wikipedia at least for 2026 and likely 2027. But I must respond but I will do so graciously.

Administrators' newsletter – November 2026
[edit]News and updates for administrators from the past month (October 2026).

- Following an RfC, election to ArbCom now requires at least 60% support. Successful candidates normally serve two-year terms, with one-year terms retained for filling vacancies. Proposals to change the election rules may now be added throughout the year and discussed on the talk page; formal discussion remains in September.
- Following an RfC, first-time reviewers’ reviews require an experienced reviewer’s check, and GA requirements now include alt text and accessible tables. Featured articles may receive GA status during removal discussions if they meet GA criteria. Backlog drives will run every five months, with a points leaderboard and awards for the top five participants.
- Self-nominations for the Arbitration Committee are open until 11 November 2026.
- Ongoing backlog drives: Copy editing, Unreference articles
