Conflict of interest?
[edit]With regret, I reverted your changes to Gulliver's Land because it reads like a company press release, possibly even AI generatoed. It is heavily,if not exclusively, supported by citations of company sources.
- If you are associated in any way with the owners or operators, please read the Conflict of interest policy and then perhaps use the article talk page to suggest appropriate changes for disinterested editors to review.
- If not, then your changes may be recovered from the article history. But you would be wise to ask for advice at the Wikipedia:Teahouse on how best to present the material so avoid the impression of using Wikipedia for promotional purposes.
I don't doubt your good faith but this is just the way that Wikipedia works. --𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 17:17, 26 August 2026 (UTC)
- I can confirm there is no conflict of interest, i do in-fact have more criticism than praise for Gulliver's. I would be hard pressed to have AI assist in writing this article as it uses Wikipedia as its main source when discussing the park and does not have access to many of the articles used. I haven't got onto the incidents section yet which may perhaps even the tone of the whole thing.
- If there's anything you think reads specifically like a press release then let me know and I'll be happy to revisit it.
- You can find a collection of newspaper clippings used here (if you have a British newspaper archive account): https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.com/collections/collection?id=0a63d8c0-6bed-4d91-9288-5b74f2821164 Tuftyispie (talk) 08:22, 27 August 2026 (UTC)
- In that case I can only apologise for my misreading of your edit. I have reinstated it. It was uncited (and borderline WP:PEACOCK) statements like "After the success of their second theme park in Warrington, the family behind Gulliver's were looking for their next location." that rang the alarm bell, so would you review the changes for anything similar to see if you can find an appropriate citation.
- (For info, a link in block capitals like WP:COI is a wikipedia shortcut notation to save having to type out Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and not me WP:SHOUTING
. The prefix "WP:" usually (but certainly not always) means "wikipedia policy".) - As a peace offering, may I let you know about Wikipedia:The Wikipedia Library which gives you free access to many resources (including the newspaper archive).
- Welcome again to Wikipedia. 𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 10:28, 27 August 2026 (UTC)
